Davy Crockett King of the Wild Frontier

This story is long, but well worth reading.

This story is a glimpse into the character and integrity of the men who pioneered our nation. They were men of principle and as such they stand in stark contrast to the scheming and corruption of the unprincipled current group that are running the country.

Long before he earned fame and eternal glory at the Alamo, Davy Crocket was a member of Congress, serving his beloved Kentucky with pride and distinction. There are many heroic tales and sage stories associated with this remarkable pioneer. This one, called "Sockdologer," is from Edward S. Ellis's book, The Life of Colonel David Crockett, published in 1884.

Davy Crockett's "Sockdologer" (1 : something that settles a matter : a decisive blow or answer : finisher, 2 : something outstanding or exceptional)

It's too bad our voters don't put men like Davy Crockett in office!

Thanks for the history, Bill. Cannot be reminded of it too much.

As an NC country boy, your environmental comment struck home. But even back in the '70's you could see what the Dimmyrats would do with an otherwise good idea.

Now if conservatives can get control of Rep. politicians, there might just be a chance fo America.
